RIP James Avery aka “Uncle” Phil.

James Avery who played Phil Banks in the 1990s TV sitcom Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has died aged 65.
According to his publicist, he died yesterday Tuesday  31st December 2013 after complications following open heart surgery he underwent recently.

Both Will Smith and Alfonso Ribeiro who played his nephew & son respectively in the TV sitcom are  devastated by the death.

Will Smith said “Working with James was a big part of my life.. in fact, James was something of a father figure to me”

While Alfonso tweeted: "I'm deeply saddened to say that James Avery has passed away”.

James Avery will be sorely missed and may his soul rest in peace.
