M.I AND CHOCOLATE CITY BOYS- BIG WINNERS AT 2011 NEA


Mr Incredible
Mr Incredible (M.I) has topped this year's Nigerian Entertainment Award with two wins to his name. M.I whose real name is Jude Abaga scooped the awards for Best Album of the year-MI2  and Best Rap Act of the year.

Overall, the “African number one rapper” singer and his chocolate city boys added entertainment executive Audu Maikori (chocolate city), hottest single “Oleku “by Ice prince. Giving the chocolate city boys  - a  total of four awards.

The Nigerian rapper has won numerous awards including musician of the year (city people 2010)

Other winners were wiz kid for best New Act, Waje –best pop/R&B, Samklef (well deserved) with music producer of the year, Olamide’s Eni Duro took the best video.

In the Nolly wood field, Ramsey Noah bagged best actor in a film “private storm” while Omoni Oboli was best actress for her role in “Anchor Baby”


 Here is a list of other winners; 

  • Best picture  producer-Jeta Amata,
  • Best directing in a film-Lancelot oduwa Imasuen/Ikechukwu, 
  • Panafrican Actress of the year-Jackie Appiah , 
  • Panafrican actor of the year-Chris Attoh 
Tuface Idibia and Dbanj who are known for scooping nominations and awards were absent from this year’s NEA

The Nigerian Entertainment Awards which took place in New York, was certainly one of the year’s most electrifying events on the afro scene.
