New Interim Libyan Prime Minister Named:Abdel-Rahim el-Kib

A new interim prime minister for Libya has been named. He is Electronics Engineer Abdel-Rahim el-Kib from Tripoli.

Abdel-Rahim el-Kib was voted by members of the National Transitional Council, according to reports from Tripoli.

5 candidates stood for the position, but Mr. Kib was elected when he received 26 of the 51 votes.

This announcement coincided with the official end of NATO's 7 month bombing campaign of Libya.

Mr. Kib now has the task of forming a government and starting the reconstruction of Libya.
