Outkast to Reunite in 2014

Rumours of the group Outkast's reunion have now been officially confirmed.

According to an interview  given by Rico Wade to Stereo Gun, the Outkast Duo (Big Boi and Andre 3000) will play together this year at the Coachella Music and Arts festival which starts on April 11 in Indio, California.

For Outkast fans this is exciting news as they appear to be some unreleased Andre 3000 solo songs from the 90s which could now be eventually released after the reunion.

The group Outkast was originally formed in 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia, made up of André "André 3000" and Antwan "Big Boi" Patton. Originally known as “Two Shades Deep” the group later changed its name to OutKast.

They went on to release 8 albums, sold over 25 million copies, and won six Grammy Awards.

Ke$ha Checks Into Rehab

According to News from TMZ Ke$ha has checked herself into rehab.

I know what you are thinking, no it is not because of the usual suspects - booze, drugs, etc. This time it is because of an eating disorder.

A statement released by Ke$ha reads:

“I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I’ve found it hard to practice. I’ll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder … to learn to love myself again, exactly as I am.”

So Ke$ha will spend the next 30 days at Timberline Knolls, Illinois treatment facility trying to get help.

We wish her well.

Jennifer Hudson’s Awesome Christmas Present to Her Assistant, What Was It?

Jennifer Hudson, the 32 year old American singer and actress bought her manager, Walter Williams, a house for his Christmas present.

Hudson revealed to the world through an Instagram video, the moment she made it known to Williams that she was buying him a house.

The pair who are very close friends, have known each other since elementary school and stuck by each other through thick and thin ever since.

Was Beyonce Wrong To Use a NASA Challenger Audio in Her New Song?

Apparently NASA has been unhappy about Beyonce's use of an audio clip from the 1986 Challenger space shuttle disaster in one of her new songs, "XO."

You will recall that during the failed space mission in 1986, the shuttle  - Challenger - exploded mid-air during takeoff, killing all 8 astronauts on board.

NASA finally responded last Tuesday to Beyonce’s action, by issuing a statement through their press secretary, Lauren B. Worley, which read: "The Challenger accident is an important part of our history; a tragic reminder that space exploration is risky and should never be trivialized... NASA works every day to honor the legacy of our fallen astronauts as we carry out our mission to reach for new heights and explore the universe."

Family members of victims, including the wife of the shuttle's commander - June Scobee -  also expressed their disappointment.

In her defence, Beyonce said "the song "was recorded with the sincerest intention to help heal those who have lost loved ones and to remind us that unexpected things happen, so love and appreciate every minute that you have with those who mean the most to you."

RIP James Avery aka “Uncle” Phil.

James Avery who played Phil Banks in the 1990s TV sitcom Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has died aged 65.
According to his publicist, he died yesterday Tuesday  31st December 2013 after complications following open heart surgery he underwent recently.

Both Will Smith and Alfonso Ribeiro who played his nephew & son respectively in the TV sitcom are  devastated by the death.

Will Smith said “Working with James was a big part of my life.. in fact, James was something of a father figure to me”

While Alfonso tweeted: "I'm deeply saddened to say that James Avery has passed away”.

James Avery will be sorely missed and may his soul rest in peace.

Michelle Obama  & Oprah Winfrey made it onto the list of 100 most powerful women in 2013. But who is the 3rd face?

Forbes annual list of the 100 most powerful women in 2013 included 11 black women, amongst whom were some very familiar faces, not-so-familiar faces and our very own Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

The top 3 black women on the the list were:

• Michelle Obama - U.S. first lady at position 4 on the list
• Oprah Winfrey - Celebrity Media Mogul, at position 13 overall 
• Ursula Burns - chief executive officer of Xerox Corp at overall position 14

Before we saw this list, we had never heard of Ursual Burns. But after reading her Biography, it turns out she has a very impressive track record. Ursula is a very inspirational role model to young black women the world over.

Its official! Davido and his cousins Sina Rambo and B-Red have finally become  separate Acts.The Nigerian celebrity siblings who have always shared the stage and featured in Davido's videos were not present in his new hit music Video 'Gobe'.

The decision by Davido's management to exclude his family in his videos and shows have been welcomed by fans who were beginning to see Davido as a member of a band rather than a solo artist.

Human Right Watch writes open letter to President Paul Biya of Cameroon

The human right watch in the letter calls on President Paul Biya of Cameroon - to immediately condemn the action of those sending death threats to two Lawyers Alice Nkom and Michel Togué against an appeal made by the lawyers, to defend a gay man sentenced for text messages he sent to another man that read 'I’m very much in love with you’.

Paul Biya of Cameroon ones said ‘minds are changing’ in Cameroon regarding homosexuality,
but  the government should take the lead by sending consistent messages that homophobic threats and violence are reprehensible,.
