| Patience Jonathan Returns Home After Treatment |
Patience Jonathan the wife of Nigeria president Goodwill Jonathan has spoken for the first time about her illness and surgery ordeal.
Speaking during a thanks giving ceremony at the state house chapel Abuja, the First Lady recounted a very difficult period in her life which required her to be absent from the country for 3 months, undergoing treatment in Germany. She had 7 surgical operations within a time frame of 1 month.
The emotional First Lady also said doctors had given up all hope on her making a full recovery, as she fell into a coma for about a week.
When word leaked about her health people began selling off her property, wrongly believing that it was the end for Patience Jonathan who compared her experience to that of Lazarus in the Bible.
The First lady was very thankful to Nigerians who prayed for her during her ordeal as these prayers sustained her. She put her miraculous recovery down to God’s will.
